29th December 2007 (End of the Year Review)

10 important things done for the year 2007:

1) Travled with wwy for her audition in some schools

2) Had a good Spring Break in Boston and a nice trip to London in May

3) Conference presentations: paper delivered in regional society meeting; poster paper in UK (will be published later); paper delivered in Boston (International Messiaen Conference, paper will be published later); proposal accepted/invitation from Hawai'i conference but I can't go

4) Witnessed wwy's solo recital, her graduation and several admission offers given by schools.

5) A memorable "summer' time in HK (less than a month)

6) Time alone in Buffalo for dissertation (end of June to early August), and also a good spiritual growth

7) Moving home to Cleveland (Ohio State) as another exile place, knowing much about the prestigious institute -- The Cleveland Institute of Music -- in US and enjoying fine music played by one of the best orchestras in the world -- The Cleveland Orchestra

8) Got a "speeding" ticket (12mph more than the max; but total was just 37mph)

9) Taught a GRADUATE course, but this led to an almost 8 hour drive between Cleveland and Buffalo every time (in the morning and in the evening)

10) Fixed the writing schedule of dissertation
