"Fate" Symphony
Yesterday night, I went to the opening concert of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in Cultural Centre. The second half concert they played Beethoven's Symphony No.5 "Fate". Before going to this concert, I have a great expectation on HKPhil and Samuel Wong that how they can play "Fate" well as this is a very common piece all over the world. Haha, although someone said they played not so good (may be people are comparing it with other versions), I think they have already brought out what Samuel Wong wants them to do, as well as bringing out some of Beethoven's ideas.
After listening to this symphony, I have some thoughts in my mind. This is the first CD I bought when I was a F. 3 student. I love this piece very much. Then this started my music study journey, like its nickname, "Fate", a long way to go. Sometimes, we can't control what we want to do. It seems that someone will control for you, how luck and unluck are you depending on your "life" and his arrangement. For me, as a Christian, I will think it is God's plan for me. Whether it is a good time or bad time, I know this is his training on me. So, no matter how poor the situation is, I won't blame on HIM but pray for wisdom and power to find some solution for the problems.
It is very stupid that people always say works are difficult to handle and do them with all unhappy and unwillingness feeling. Do these feeling help you? Of course NOT. As we all studied a chinese text in F. 4, "·q·~¼Ö·~": When we are facing some difficult works or something we don't want to do, it is better for us to find some interesting things in that work so that we still can have a chance to work with a "direction" which lead us to the end of the tasks. Bad temper also can't help you to finish works but only intensify your unwillingness towards your tasks. Fact is the fact, you need to face no matter want or don't want.
"Fate" is something mystic. So it makes the life more exciting. You won't know until the last second of the thing. Although sometimes we got what we wanted and seem that they will belong to you forever, we really don't know what happened in last second. Last night, my best friend left HK and went to RCM, UK, for her piano study. I think it is also very surprise to her that going to UK for study. I know that she has been unhappy about what should she choose, but we can help nothing except listening to her and giving unlimited supoprt to her. So, Nana, past is already past, no matter what we got in a few months ago, we have chosen already. We need to stick on it and work hard until the end of the study, right? You will busy with your study and I will busy with my papers but don't forget you still have 3 friends (4 Golden Flowers) giving you infinity support.
